Teaching

Ben's first teaching position was as Oboe Tutor for Hendon Music Centre as part of Barnet Education & Arts Trust's Saturday morning provision. Having built a reputation there as an energetic and committed teacher, keen to build experience in all areas of education, Ben taught all over North London, culminating in a position at Dame Alice Owen's School teaching Oboe & Bassoon and conducting the School's Symphony Orchestra.

Testimonials

"My son really looks forward to his on-line lessons.  Ben has a real knack of being encouraging while, at the same time, helping him achieve to the very best of his ability. He sets his standards high! Ben understands him so well that the progress he is making feels easy, exciting and totally enjoyable."

Kathy Bamber, Director of Music at Dame Alice Owen's School

"Working with Ben is fun, enjoyable and illuminating. Teaching music, especially through video calls is no easy task, yet he makes it look effortless.....

Lessons are not all seriousness and hard work, as he genuinely cares about how you are doing and how you are coping. He makes sure set work is tweaked to fit the student, allowing you to look forward to the practice sessions..."
